My expertise is in restaurants and food. That’s because I’ve covered the industry for nearly 25 years as a reporter, food writer and restaurant reviewer. I’m currently a freelance writer whose subjects also include finance and franchising.
For many years I was Senior Editor at Chain Leader and features editor for Restaurant Hospitality. I’ve interviewed hundreds restaurant executives, owners, chefs and employees about their jobs.
I’m also a former restaurant reviewer for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, a job I spent doing from 1999 to early 2014. My recent reviews are on this website; you can find many others on cleveland.com. Meanwhile, I continue to write for various restaurant publications.
Finally, I’m a partner in Results Thru Strategy, a consortium of talented restaurant consultants who work chiefly with multi-unit operators. I handle social media and business communications chores for the group.
